Dear Faith Encouraged Faithful,

I’m looking forward to being at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church on October 28 and 29 and they celebrate their parish Name Day!

We are going to be exploring how St. Paul directed the early Christians to develop the spiritual disciplines of Attentiveness and Spiritual Sobriety so that the disciples of Jesus can both know themselves and know God through Christ. Come and let’s expand our understanding of how to tame our passions and discipline our desires. We are called to make our desires our servants instead of our driving masters. And this path of Spiritual Maturity leads us to enjoy being with God forever!

I look forward to meeting you in Irvine!

Best wishes for the “Be Watchful, Be Sober” Name Day Celebration at St Paul’s Irvine Church in California. Whether we are awake or asleep, may we live together with Him (1 Thessalonians 5:10) and may we remember the words of Jeremiah 1:11-12.
